Róisín Bevan is an Australian born, Irish made Performer, Theatre Producer and Podcast Maker. She currently lives and works between the United Kingdom and Australia.
Róisín is a Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts (London) alumni, where she gained her Masters in Acting. Her field of research interrogated the 'Actor as Creator' model, looking at innovative ways of devising new work and developing strategies for producing independent theatre to broaden accessibility and reach. Róisin specifically examined Solo and Verbatim Theatre.
Prior to this, she studied Theatre at Curtin University: a holistic degree covering devising, technical skills, performance art, academic theory, arts administration and actor-training.
Róisín has produced work for and performed at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Maiden Speech Festival, Leicester Square Theatre, Tristan Bates Theatre, Camden People's Theatre, Theatre N16, The Cockpit Theatre, The Bridewell Theatre, The Criterion Theatre, Perth Fringe Fest, The Blue Room and Subiaco Arts Centre.
In 2018, Róisin founded Scatterjam Theatre.
Róisín's passion for producing also led her to create a podcast production company, alongside Daisy Grant called Project Harness. Together they host and produce a series called Harness, discussing online activism and digital ethics with leading global thinkers. The podcast was met with high praise and featured on Apple's New and Noteworthy. Róisín and Daisy are members of the UK's Lady Pod Squad.
Róisín has written for stage and print (published in Independent Australia) and is represented by Billy Marsh Drama.
