Scatterjam is a producing company founded by WA theatre maker Róisín Bevan in 2018. Scatterjam has worked successfully with a number of international artists to create work for the Tristan Bates Theatre in London. Róisin has collaborated particularly closely with Associate Writer of the company, Rachel Causer. Róisín and Rachel met whilst studying at Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London, where Rachel now works as a Creative Tutor.
Róisín got the producing bug after co-producing and acting in self-penned, autobiographical comedy Ma, Am I Good In Bed? with Lexi Clare Productions, which successfully toured London theatres and culminated in a sold-out run at Leicester Square Theatre.
Scatterjam’s first production, When It Happens (scroll down to view the trailer), was created for Maiden Speech Festival 2018, and returned to Tristan Bates for an extended run as part of Camden Fringe, after receiving numerous four and five star reviews. When It Happens was subsequently nominated for an Off West End Award (Offie) for Best New Play in a Short Run.
Please, Feel Free to Share is Scatterjam’s second production currently in-development. It previewed for a short three night run at Tristan Bates Theatre in November 2019 to outstanding reviews and industry feedback. Scatterjam will be announcing exciting news about the show's development soon - follow us on social media to keep up to date!
Scatterjam is committed to creating female led work which is socially and politically engaged whilst being physically and structurally explorative. We aim to produce work that actively challenges commonly held preconceptions and celebrates the comedic potential of doing so.
Róisín is particularly interested in telling stories relevant to Australian communities and connecting WA artists with international Arts communities. If you are a WA Artist - please get in touch.
